When months of planning come together, it could be easy to panic, especially when the weather takes a turn toward a blustery day instead of a calm Florida winter evening. However, my mantra is: “It’s all in the details” and as long as I’ve prepared, prepared, prepared, there is no reason to panic. Having in place talented stylists to help to carry out the vision and trusting that they will do so is how I’m able to finish a project with confidence, style and grace.
One benefit of owning a design firm for so many years is the connections and relationships that are formed with so many talented people who can make a vision possible. Of course, when you’re dealing with a project of such a large scale it’s impossible for just one person to accomplish it, so I surround myself with people who can carry out the vision down to the last detail, on time and well done.
The ascetic for this special evening was a Rustic Seafood Bar nostalgic of Old Casual Florida. Having just a few strong design elements that could carry the theme throughout was really so simple and yet so powerful.
- Driftwood orchid arrangements
- Oyster bar and wine display in old wine barrels
- Rustic boxes to cover the necessary chafing dishes
- Casual tulips
- Oyster shells and lots of candles
The evening was a very relaxed family gathering with time and space to reminisce and celebrate, to appreciate the history of our relationships and the anticipation of new ones forming. No one was in a hurry to leave and I take that as the highest compliment!
I’m still basking in a project well done and it’s such a wonderful feeling! The rehearsal dinner was a smashing success down to the smallest detail and I couldn’t be happier!
